bad coil/deal

bought a detector from member here with extra coil. Coil was obviously used but in pics and description nothing mentioned about being repaired.

coil came with cracks and was epoxyed. I sent several emails but guy refuses to believe anything wrong or that he is in the wrong.

I wouldn't have bought this setup if person was forthwright. if something is wrong, tell or show, stuff will still sell, just may be a little less

No, you are correct. Our write-ups and pics should reflect the true condition of what is up for sale, even if it's cosmetic. It hurts everyone involved when this happens. The person who bought does not get what they expected and the reputation of the seller goes down the drain. I hope the person who did this does the right thing to rectify the situation.

They were definately in the wrong for not mentioning that the coil had been repaired or was in rough condition. And if it were me and they did nothing to rectify the situation, I would put their name up in lights at this forum telling folks to be wary of dealing with them.

heres the deal. i bought a xlt/bigfoot package from wltdwiz. pics on classifieds from 2/16/12 and 1/17/12 everything looks hunky dory and description is too.

only 15 hours on detector. same statement made 2 years ago seen for sale on ebay and other forums l later find out. may be true, i dont know, sold xlt.

here are the pics of my bigfoot coil which was part of the "very nice package."


i definately wouldn't have paid 650 for a xlt and a scruffy looking bigfoot and a pitiful looking pinpointer and a detector bag that needs drycleaned smells like 10000000 burnt cigarettes.

I tried to get something done with pms, but have either been ignored or told untruths

Based on what you described and the pictures, the words "very nice package" definitely does not apply to what he sold you. If it is true that he had only 15 hours on the machine, then he must not take very good care of his equipment and/or beats the crap out of it and I would not want to buy from him anyway. I went back and looked at his post and it appears that the pictures he provided were over a year old based on the date (Dec 2010) in two of the pictures. If he does not make it right, I would post a warning to everyone in BOLD CAPPED LETTERS to stay away from this guy.

I sent a pm to the guy to rectify the situation and give his side. Although hard to believe the guy now. I have been playing email tag for 10 days or more now, though now he isn't answering. The guy has over 600 posts and multiple buys and sells. pretty disappointing.

ok now heres the deal from my perspective
first of all im real sorry that craigs unhappy
& will be glad to do a reasonable refund for the bigfoot coil

i told craig i was selling this for a friend & it was a nice package
the big foot coil was used & it had been repaired & i should have mentioned that it had been resiliconed
the cracks that hes seeing are the old calking.
the coil worked fine as everything was tested before listing

as far as the xlt the xlt that i sold craig was a 9 out of 10 cosmeticy & had only been used for approxmately 15 hours
the ugly pintpointer was new but had had a bunch of tape put on it to keep it from getting damaged my friend had thought
the bag was brand new .. & my friend dont smoke so this statement dont make sence ,

i had used my girlfriends camera to take the pix & she has no idea how to set the date on the camera so the date is wrong...
this unit was not listed 2 years ago on ebay
but was listed about 2 months ago
ive done many transactions on this site & craig could have called me & we could have talked in person as my phone # is in every selling post on this site & he had it in his emails , im not hiding
craig is more than welcome to give me a call 928-200-9446 & i will try to come up with a fair refund on the coil

that is a crack in the old coil cover epoxy

it was not cracked when shipped to the best of my knowledge

the package was insured & if it got damaged in shipping we can put in for insurance
possibly they dropped it

Not only was epoxy redone but coil case is cracked too. a better explaination of coil and or pics would have been appreciated. I definately would not have bought this with the coil. CBailey

would have paid 350-400 for xlt setup with out bigfoot.
in fact i bought another xlt for 325 with 3 coils, though is older. Deals like this makes me want to give up doing trades and buying used. like I said i guess i bought a giant $250 dollar paper weight. Well thank your friend for me. Craig.

the coil worked fine did you try the special settings in the xlt for the bigfoot?
the coil had been siliconed to keep it from getting moisture in it as the original epoxy was getting cracked from age
