Here's another Excalibur mod, please ignore the black oxide socket head screws I had to order some 316 stainless as these would rust instantly in salt water.

i was just going to add a small section on to my forearm piece and drill it out but I got a straight shaft from Doc and will use that...Nice adaptors..Geo
 
Is this mounting bracket something that Minelab produces?
 
They would even work great for mounting on a straight as you wouldn't need to drill any holes in the shaft. By not needing to have any screws going through the shaft it would allow you to slide the lower shaft farther up inside making an even shorter package when traveling. Charles does great work!!!!
