Here's a nice mod that works well for the older Bandido, Silver Sabre etc. with the smaller control box.
The original S-handle set was a two piece, long, had to ship and pack for travel or backpacking.
I always like things to be light, easy to use and compact for storage or travel.
Looked around in my parts chest and found a Fisher 3 piece s-handle set-up. I believe it was a spare from the ID Edge.
It feels lighter than the Tesoro s-handle and is precisely what I was looking for.
I drilled out the s-handle so the Bandido slides right on and is held on by a nylon coil stem bolt and wing nut. So it
can be removed fast for hip mounting or....
Minelab foam grip and a Tesoro arm rest finishes it off.
The control box is up a little closer to the foam grip. For me feels right. Now instead of using one finger to flip up and down the return, disc pinpoint switch, placing the finger ton top or below to
flip the toggle. Two finger fit into position naturally. first finger is used to flip the toggle down, second finger to flip it back up. First and second fingers easily can flip the auto tune, manual toggle as well. Both fingers also fall into place to easily adjust sensitivity and disc.
I was originally hoping to use the Fisher s-handle for the Toltec II but, the controls would be right up against the foam grip.
