Bandido II uMax

Guys I'm about to pee myself. Got a new to me Tesoro on the way. What tips can you offer me for my Bandido II uMax. This is my first Tesoro with ground balance but not my first manual GB a machine. I have Whites IDX modded with GB and a sweet 5900 with that awesome dual pot GB? By the way, I put the 5900 up for sale to make room for the B II. Somebody needs to buy it before I talk myself into keeping it.

I have a bandido II Umax. I absolutely love this detector. You found one of the best Tesoros ever. I will never part with mine. That being said. I have used only Tesoros for about 3 years now. First learn the language of your new Tesoro after a while you will see they have a distinct way of identifying targets even though most of them are single toned. 2nd ground balancing may be different than your other detectors. I just searched on this forum and found some good pointers. Once I learned how it was easy. 3rd and very important go low and slow in your swing, Tesoros do have a very fast recovery over targets, but if I take it slow on my sweeps I find more keepers. You will be amazed at how easy it pinpoints your targets as well. It is easy to center your target in the inner circle of the stock coil. All my Tesoros are easy to pinpoint with which brings me to my next point. 4th set the disc low and dig up everything. I found a small gold ring at the r in iron setting on my Tesoro compadre and try to dig everything now and set my disc low. Most of all welcome to this amazing forum and the family of Tesoro. HH

You need to keep it. I have always sold stuff related to this hobby and then regretted it later on. I am however pondering selling my Golden Umax its the older machine with the newer tone update. It has the 20A serial number for the 20th anniversary year in 2000. I have a desk notepad from Tesoro where Vince Gifford actually performed the tone update on the machine himself. That ought to give it some added value.

Thanks for the advice guys. This is my fourth Tesoro. Yes I am addicted. Started with a Sliver uMax then Compadre, next a Golden uMax. Still have them all. I'll download the manual and study up on ground balancing so I'll be ready when she arrives!!
