Baptism at the river yesterday, pig roast/pot luck meal, off road vehicles and nature...

Pete in MI

Our church held a baptism service at a river that runs through an area designated for all terrain vehicle, dirt bikes, etc. There were many who were baptised from the church and even some of the ATV riders and a couple workers from the state workers even went into the water in their boots! God brought more than we had originally thought would come to be baptised.

We had excellent food, had music as our Praise Team Pastor and team members sang. A small portable generator provided the power for the electronic keyboard, microphones and speaker system.

A lot of 'noise' from the engines of the ATVs. I was not able to sing with the praise team...my back was hurting so much I just sat in the sun and let the sun warm my back. I did head down to the 'outhouse' and was able to see the baptisms from above through the trees.

While standing by the trees - even though there were so many people, so much noise, this little creature (dragonfly) let me take his picture..

Seems everyone of these little guys I have seen in the past month or so are so different and unique...a creation of God.

Yesterday too, was Sherry and my anniversary...6 years of marriage. Neither of us would ever want anyone else. We do laugh sometimes about things. You see between the 2 of us we have one good eye. I have glaucoma in both of mine and the right eye is worse than the left and my left has been bothering me and Sherry has a catarac in one eye...the other had one but has been fixed so she has the one good eye but...I have the drivers license that is valid so I drive  The State has already said they will not help get the meds for glaucoma but will help me get disability from the Feds when I cannot see. Wonderful logic. At $180 for a small botle of drops, I may go blind and the State will have saved some money.

Anyway, didn't mean to get off topic. Had a great day yesterday.

Sounds like my baptism here in Montana on a warm summer day with snow melt flowing down the river.

It WAS a bit refreshing!:yikes:

Sounds like a great time at the river! :)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY PETE AND SHERRY!

I've been baptised in a river twice and the last time was after dark! The headlights of the cars on the gravel bed lit up the baptism area! First time I was 13, the second time I was 51 and it was really special to me, for God's Holy Spirit was with me in a wonderful way! I will never forget it! The pic of the dragonfly is pretty and sorry your back was hurting......seems like the flesh has aches and pains of one kind or the other!

God Bless!
Betty
