Hi all
I am daily reader of this forum but havn't posted to it. I have been detecting since the middle 60's. When I find a coin like this it still makes my day!! I found it with an Exploror II at about 8" down. I found it where many other dectorist including myself have hunted many times over the years. Just goes to show you never get them all.

Yes Jim, for me it seems to be a pretty rare occasion to find a barber half these days at least in my area. I still am able to find barber and seated dimes and a few barber quarters but they are getting scarce.

Since the Sovereign and the Explorers came out, up here in ND we are seeing more barber halfs than we seen back in the 70s when I started detecting. One of the guys with the Explorer XS has 5 barber halfs this year plus 4 walkers, my other buddie has 10 halfs this year too with 5 of those barber too. Some of the reason is that some of these are with trash, on edge or even deeper than other detectors can see.
