Barber rescue at the jailhouse!

Ray in WA

New member
I just had to get out for a couple hours this Memorial Day, especially since the city had scraped more dirt from the old jailhouse site and is getting ready to haul it away. So off I went with the Safari and not more than an inch down came out this 1906 Barber dime. I also got a couple unreadable wheats about a foot away.

I'll probably go back and scan the area again later tonight since it doesn't get dark now till 9pm. icon_sunny

Ray ! Nice , Nice find. Man I wish i could get some old coins like that. Pretty hard to do at the beach. Congrads on those. Gene

Thanks Elton & Gene. I went back but didn't get anything else. But they are planning to scrape more, I'm sure. So possibilities are still open there to find more coins. This was the third barber I've pulled from the site.

Hey Gene, don't you live in the LA area? Lots of places there to find those old coins. Another good place is in Pasadena/Glendale area. Just hit those old easements.
