Yes I saw that since it was in his response to my post about coil warranty, but still cannot find out where to buy the batteries if I want to replace them myself.

Only place to buy them is from your dealer or through the service center . . . . . pricing is up to teh dealer and set at list by the service center.

Thanks, but can't find them listed at any dealers. Is this a special order item?

Yes, it is a special order by the dealer. Since XP only started selling the Deus in teh US in 2012, even the original units are still under warranty and as such, why stock a part that the company will replace for free. As has been said, most of the guys that use the Deus in Europe I have talked to are on the original batteries and that is from 2009 when they first were introduced.
As you have seen, the flyer on V3.0 lists the warranty now being 5 years rather than the 2 years it had been.
Well, before anyone that bought one recently blows a gasket . . . . . XP has once again stepped up and raised the bar when it comes to customer support.
Any Deus purchased since January 1, 2013 will be covered under the new warranty period . . . . and remember, the warranty covers the equipment and not the owner which means the warranty is transferrable as long as the original sales receipt goes with the unit. It must have been purchased after the January 1, 2013 date from an authorized XP dealer. Any unit purchased beforte that date - with a sales receipt - will retain the 2 year warranty.

Just to be clear, all batteries are covered under a 2-year warranty versus the 5-year equipment warranty....is that correct?

Sorry but no . . . pre-2013 units still have the 2 year warranty but from what I have seen, Detector Electronics services out of warranty units for far less than some other manufacturers do. If you have a repair question and want to see what the cost might be, give the service center a call.
