Has anyone had this problem? My rechargeable batteries won't power up my Explorer II. The AA batteries work with the unit but the rechargeable won't. I bought a new rechargeable figuring it was the battery pack and that didn't work so I thought it must be the charger so I bought a new charger. New charger, old charger, new rechargeable battery, old rechargeable battery, no combination works. Any6 ideas what this problem may be?? Thanks

That's an odd problem. Call Minelab and ask to speak to one of the Tech's. Could be something wrong with the circuit board and not the power source. Good hunting, David @ Dixie

Make sure your contact points are clean on both the battery and detector. Just a thought!Gilly in Illinois

Make sure the battery connectors are strait inside the machine. Then check the insides of the empty pack by popping the top off of it just to make sure that the connectors are not broken on either end of the pack on the inside. Be careful when you take the top off. You can use a small flat screwdriver to pry apart the pack. If you do not want to take the pack apart, see if you can look inside by using a small mirror like dentist's use. If that isn't your problem, then make sure that you charge the batteries and when they are fully charged, see if you can't use a voltage meter to check each battery to make sure that there is not a bad battery in the group that will not hold a charge. This will cause problems if there is a bad one and you will have to replace it. Hope you figure it out and please post back to let everyone elso know what the problem was so if they encounter it themselves, they will know what to do. Good Luck!
