Be careful what you throw in the trash!

I was going through my finds over the weekend, tossing this and that piece of trash.
I got to this, what I thought was a bottle cap and almost tossed it. Then I thought,
Why don't we just wasn't it off to see what it is. It was totally caked with dirt on top and
completely filled in the cavity underneath.
As I washed it up a salt/pepper top began to appear. Then I notice the word "Sterling" near the edge at 5 o'clock.
This was found with the V3i.

That is a VERY cool find...... Congrats..:clapping:

Nice find - TWICE! That's happened to me a few times where at first I thought that a find was scrap or trash and later upon closer inspection discovered that I had a good find. Congratulations on a good find! Best of luck and...

I took a bag of clad ti coinstar machine, it reject some. Then I fed them back and it reject a black colored dime which turned out to be 51 Roosevelt. So check your finds

I had a ring marked 14K but it was black and corroded. After further looking someone had put clear nail polish on it. The nail polish let moisture in and it was mold and mildew. Once I got the polish off it shined like it was supposed too.
