Beach Coin Ratios

It has been years since I took notice of quarter, dime, nickel ratios on my beach finds.
Has anybody done a study lately?
Having just cleaned up 1031 coins (excluding pennies)
I decided to do a count.
I had 275 quarters or 26 % of the total
I had 594 dimes or 58 % of the total
I had 162 nickels or 16 % of the total.
I kept no record of number of hunts; but would estimate it to be about 15 to garner the 1031 beach coins.
I am comfortable enough with my detector (Fisher CZ70pro)to avoid digging most zinc pennies; and as we know, copper pennies are getting fewer and fewer on the beaches.
I was just curious to know if anybody had posted any info. on this lately. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Thanks for those stats, Lee.
What type detector are you using? <img src="/metal/html/wink.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=";)">

Over the past four and a half years of hunting South Jersey beaches (and lakes) are as follows:
12,964 pennies (51%)
652 Wheaties (3%)
3,035 Nickels (12%)
4,738 Dimes (19%)
4,103 Quarters (16%)
47 Halves or Dollars (>1%)
440 Silver Coins (mixed) 2%
Total coins 25,535 with $ 1,800 clad value
Total hunting hours 803
While I too hate the zincies, I dig em 'cause they can mimick a gold ring in that range of Minelab tones, especially if they are corroded. 279 rings (silver and gold) attest to this strategy.
Hope this info helps.

Seaweed I am wondering what setup you are using for the beach.I noticed you mention the CZ 70 pro. What size coil? Have you tried the 12.5 Sunray?how does it compare to 10.5" fisher? Thanks

Plenty of quarters more than likely they have to feed the meters at Myrtle Beach. Salt water loves to eat those pennies. Wish more people would pick them up along with the rest of the junk. Hate it when I see people detecting without a pouch for junk.

I did make stats about euros here in Italy for 2003/2004 season.
I inculde my graphic.
