beach finds 27-06-2006

Nice stuff Stan and good pics. Your coins look nice and clean. That ring would have got my heart beat up too.

So you haven't drank the beer yet?

Mirage

Hello Mirage. Quite a lot of the coins that I find are droppings from the last time that I was at that particular beach. there are mainly three very popular beaches along the odd 25-30 K of coast line .the main one has a lot of people on the beach. A lot of tourists visit this area as well as the aussie people all year round. We are in the winter season and still get a couple of thousand people visit this area each week. In the summer time( towards the end of October) there would be easy two to three times that amount and you can hardly move for the crowd that is why I start late in the afternoon and work all night. I do the hot spots on each beach and then grid a different area each time I go down so some areas have time to re stock. There are a couple of local blokes that only do a couple hours on the week end and I don

Hello Stan, I thought you did really well with this find. It's always nice to pick up coins. I saved mine for a while, then bought some dive gear with it! So I certainly got my money's worth with time and effort. Do you save your coins? I'm beginning to do that all over again, but I've got to get out to the beach more often, that's where I'm finding them. Garry and I are looking to buy the Excalibur very soon, as he'd like to try more underwater detecting. Two units would be great, one for each of us, but I'll have to save my pennys for the second one!
Happy Hunting! Angela

What a neat picture, Angela is that you? Boy that water looks enviting. Glad to see you're still on the forum. Marc Trainor, beach guy.

Stan that's some great stuff and some really good photo's. Keep it up, and keep sendin' it in. It's really fun to actually "see" the stuff that people find.:clapping::stretcher::clap:

long time no hear! How've you been? Yep, it's me in the photo, detecting with the Quattro. That particular weekend I found around $80.00 in coins, and some junk jewelry. Garry took the photo. That same spot I snorkled for old bottles and found an old green champagne and a little essence bottle. I don't know if you've kept up with the recent posts here, but we've since moved out of the bush and into the big smoke of over 20,000 people. We've got TV, (haven't had it for 5 years) and heaps of junk mail when I come home from work every day. I've even got a letter box, instead of a pigeon hole. So we've been hitting the beaches a lot more often. Just get back last night after two days detecting. Garry has bought himself the Excalibur, and loves it. On Saturday, he found about 20 coins and 2 silver rings in an hour! Anyway, hope I haven't waffled too much here. Missed reading your posts Marc!
Angela:)

Hello Beachguy. Thanks for your post I agree with you about sending in photos of your finds. I like to see what you find in your part of the world and I guess that it is the same way with you guys. Stan. From Australia down under .

Are you kidding, Angela, this is almost like watching or at least listening to a travel show. You guys are so adventurous down there. I'm completely knocked out by your response. Movin' to the big city hugh??? Are you kidding again??? 20,000people is like a small town to me. I live in San Diego, California. We have, about two million people here. It wasn't always that way, but it sure is now. You guys are living an adventure. I really envy you and your tenacity. Gotta be some "strong blokes" to do that, I think, and you still find time to go metal detecting.
It's great to hear from you Angela, and I appreciate the response. Keep sending those pictures and dialogue.:stretcher::twodetecting::clapping:
