This "mystery coin" ( I'm hoping it's a coin ") was deeeeeeeeeeeeep!! I kept at that sound...wouldn't let go of it...I'm glad I stayed with it.

By the looks of the encrustation...this one had to be in the ocean for about 100 years..

Anyway, I 'm soaking it now...we'll see what happens..

It is the size or a quarter.. sorry that I can't even designate "reverse" and "obverse" :(

Anyone care to take a wild guess what it is?

thanks for looking

Hubby and I got to go to a local beach on the IL river today and i found a penny i believe that i need to soak. No great finds one dime, 4 pennies. Oldest penny was 1961 the dime was 1988.

Congrats on the finds, Lorraine, and you may have a Seated Liberty Quarter or a piece of eight! Anyway, I wish you good luck on finding something really, really good! :)

God Bless!

was hoping that it was a Barber.....next time

digital x ray machines where the image comes out on a monitor instead of a film. They could x ray it.
