Hello everyone I'm going to the beach for the first time i have dd coil 18.75 khz , what are the steps TO SET UP the x terra i lost my manual

should i go to the wet sand or dry sand

Thanks!!!!! and Merry Christmas to all of you!!!!!!

You can download or view the manual HERE.

I was/am hoping that one of the beach hunters would chime in. I can tell you how I'd go about it based on what I know and what I've read, and if someone has a better plan then they can pipe up.

I'd hit the place that you want to start and fire it up in AM to find a clean place to setup. Then press the GB button, and then press and hold it to enter BEACH mode. Then auto noise cancel, auto GB, make sure that TRACKING is turned on, set Sensitivity to the highest that you can and still maintain stability, and get busy. Work the dry sand separately from the wet. The transition area between wet and dry will be the toughest to work, but do-able if you go slow. You should be able to hunt right up to the water, but might need to make incremental changes to the Senstivity as you go.
Be prepared to dig deep. People don't get near as upset seeing you at the beach with a shovel as they do in the city park. And just as always, be sure to fill your holes.

Have fun!

My experience of beach detecting with XT 705 is that my machine get noicy on wet sand, but dry sand works fine if you made a correct setup.
The 18.75 kHz will work fine, finding the small juvels.

I have used my 10.5"DD mf and another 18.75kHz coil and also very fun is to use the small 6"DD,it goes deeep in sand...
On pictures is the last time out with that setup, I had 11 coins in less then 30 minutes,3 silver and the rest some clad money.
Good luck and a great hunt!

Mike

All of the above.
I'll add-bring a pinpointer if you can. Last time out (2 weeks ago) the beaches were well hunted. I hit many tiny pieces that fell through the scoop. Besides the usual foil-there were BB sized pieces of aluminum that were good solid signals 4-6" down. Even in my hand they were hard to see. Also got some earring backs. Ended up with my 1st gold ring also (w the 705 that is).

For wet sand there is a lot of falsing even when you lower the sensitivity-in certain areas. Dig all repeatable signals in these areas. Even if the TID # blanks or changes after hearing the target. If it sounds in 2 or more directions of sweep-it's there. If you stuck for a while trying to find a target-remember to turn of the tracking. Too many passes over the same target will make the signal disappear. Turn it back on when you are ready to proceed.

Do a search here also on this topic. EOS had some other usful info in previous posts along with others. 18.75 is the coil suggested for beaches and mineralized areas. That is what i used. After reading other posts-I'm anxious to try some 0ther coils.
