Beach Hunter AT3

Can anyone help me with some information about the old Beach Hunter AT3 in regards to a small slide switch on the circuit board, that is meant to change it for use in salt or fresh water (it is not mentioned in the manual) and what position it was meant to be for salt water i.e forward to the coil for ------water ??.
Or any other helpful information
