Beach Hunter ID

Can any users out there give me their impressions of the Beach hunter and any useful tips. I just purchased a new unit and managed to find a ring my first time out.

britboy, i have a beachhunter id that i bought in dec last year, it works well, i have found two gold rings on the dry sand in about 10 trips out with it. it handles the wet sand as well as any water machine out there, i also have a cz 20 and the beachhunter is similar, with the 3 tones but the cz does have a manual disc which i prefer over the preset disc. the bhid is heavy but well balanced, and i'm anxious to take into the water and see how it performs there. i think the beachhunter is a keeper. hh, bob n.

all metal mode use the ID lights to dig or not....any little blink in the red light don't dig..dig all yellow or green and combo targets(ones that give yellow+green together...running it this way gives better depth and better hits on small gold.....use a coil cover and rub the sand with your swings...dig any faint targets that are repeatable even if you don't get the lights to blink..put coil in hole after scooping some sand out recheck id lights. if you learn this detector well you'll be amazed what it can do...good hunting!!hope this is helpfull!!

Do you think there is more depth running in all metal as opposed to disc? I did manage to find a ring my first time using it. Coins are pretty easy to read due to the high tone. Noticed that sometimes light flashes between iron and ring, do you also experience that? Do you ignore or dig.

I DO GET MORE DEPTH USING IT IN ALL METAL.EVEN THOUGH YOU SWITCHED IT INTO ALL METAL THE ID LIGHTS WILL TELL YOU IF YOU SHOULD DIG....ANY BIT OF RED ITS GOT IRON IN IT...LOTS OF METALS WILL READ IN YELLOW/RING SUCH AS PULL TABS.SOLID GREEN LIGHTS ARE ALMOST ALWAYS COINS/SILVER AND COPPER TOO.

Went to the beach this am and got one or two signals with no light showing, is this falsing or is the signal to weak to make the light respond? I did not dig the signal since I assumed it wasn't good.

good machine, I have done very well at the ocean and local parks&playgrounds....but use the nylon pouch and neck strap to carry the control/battery module and reduce arm fatigue by 75%....
