You know since I've bought my Excalibur 1000 I haven't really used it much. Do to my work in the Mid -West and west cost. but was wondering how Secure and Confident are you guys that walk out into Chest high water....

Are there any insecurities about being out that far and Having both your hands full...
On top of that getting a little tossed around.... and fearing of either dropping the Scoop or Detector...

I'm currently working in Pittsburgh,Pa but plan on making a trip to Va Bch...

Put a little spray foam into the handle of your scoop and you'll have no problems. The detector will be allright unless you lose your grip and your headphones from around your neck. Keep your head up so you don't get knocked down by rogue waves, at least not too often.
You're going to love the water!

I like to hunt waist to chest deep water. There is very little trash out that far. I hunt mainly Long Island Sound so it is like a pond most of the time and I do not have to deal with any wave height. Get to know area first, where the sand bars and holes are and watch others and what they are doing.

It dont bother me none at all to walk out chest or neck deep with waves. Im not worried about sharks, from all the info i have read and seen on sharks, sharks wont mess with you. I mean, everything a shark eats is horizontal in the water, a detectorist is vertical..... Only thing im ever worried about is jellyfish. Ill mess with snakes, bees, wasps, ram's, tom's, steer, horses.... and so on. But if i see a jellyfish, i normally try to avoid it. :D lol Out in the water the waves are normally not too to bad, but guarantee you, if they do get worse, its gonna be when you have that ohh so good sounding target. Good luck, hope to see ya when you come down here.
