Beach hunting with a G2 ?- Florida/ Keys way

Hi Guys

Just wondering if any of you have ever used the G2 or Goldbug Pro on "island type" beach such as the ones you get in Florida or in the Keys?...or any tropical islands. I'm due to go to Mauritius soon and was wondering if it's worth bringing the G2 or if it will false. Beaches there are white sand

Thanks

It'll probably deliver a fairly decent performance. You will probably have to ground balance manually. If in the dry stuff you don't hear any mineral to balance to, just set it to about 40, which will provide sensitivity to the broadest range of targets. In the wet stuff you'll have to do down to about zero.

Remember also that this is not a weatherproof machine, and salt air can corrode stuff. (I used to live 3 blocks from Ocean Beach in S.F. and even inside the house, everything but stainless steel would corrode.) So put a plastic bag over its head and secure it with a rubber band.

Sweet, thanks Dave. Great tips there!
