Had a chance to detect a site Tuesday nigh. Corn field that had been picked and plowed..I've been detecting for nearly 30 years and found some awesome stuff..but no capped bust coins. After soaking for a couple of days she turned out beautifully. Laying on top of the ground no less. Thanks for looking
that's a beauty.... I found my 1st capped bust coin this past spring.. mines a 10 cent piece... don't know if I will ever find another... that was a lot of money to lose back then..... did you find any other coins or relics there ?? I did dig a large silver coin last spring on a night hunt and it was at a place I had found colonial stuff prior..i it might be an early piece of silver but turned out to be a 1934 walking half which I promptly lost a few days later....congrats again on a very very cool find......
Thanks guys. Bootyhound we did find more coins ... My buddy dug a couple of large cents. Also some flat buttons. I found 2 1840 Harrison political buttons with log cabins on the which were pretty cool also.
kev, would love too see those Harrison buttons as well if possible.... sounds like a great spot with a lot of potential... either way thanks for posting ... happy hunting....
