all I found was a 1962 penny. The SE kept ringing in the upper to middle right. I dug them all and they were tin or foil. I've been digging in my large yard. The house is from Civil War days with a lot of trash in the ground. Square nails, rusted hunks of metal... I found an old gas light pipe with the "faucet" on it. I'm still not sure how to tell if I have a coin in "my sights".

throw a coin on the ground in a clean spot raise your coil about 6 inches sweep the coin and listen to what it sounds like. Now go dig those signals at that depth or deeper.

From bottom to top right would be Nickels Pennies Dimes and in the top right Quarters or Large cents. This is just something to give you an idea where they fall. There are lots of other coins and Jewelry that fall in here also. But this gives you some perspective.

Thanks. That's the screen area I was digging and digging trash.

We all do that ;) But when it locks in its usually good. It takes time but you'll do OKay.

I really need to master this thing after a local White Dealer got mad at me for not buying a DFX and said I'd spend more time trying to figure this out than actually finding much with it. I was hoping to find some good stuff fast so I could prove him wrong.

OK Bob! Thanks! My house is old so there should be some good stuff around here. Lots of trash though.
