Been off the forums for a while now I don't see hardly any Omega users anymore!

Never used one myself, most people over here in the UK either go for the entry level Teknetics due to possibly lack of funds or straight to the top machine the T2,the people that do use them think they are great machines, but you are correct not alot of people post about them.

Just hope Teknetics bring something new out as although the T2 is a fantastic detector it is getting a little out dated,i mainly use the T2 as my main machine but i also use other makes as well including a Pulse for deeper hoard hunting.

Still use mine. I like using it with the 13 inch ultimate coil or the 5 inch coil. I would use it more if EMI didn't shut it down at about 50% of my favorite sites. The Omega has my favorite design out of all the detectors I have used. I would like to see Teknetics come out with an Omega 8001 that handles EMI like its higher frequency brother the G2.

Jury is still out as to how I feel about my Omega purchase ( bought this summer) , got the 13" Detech with it along side the 10" . I feel the pain on the EMI issue. Maybe I have to just tough it out like I did with the F75 on the EMI and get used to it.

I do find myself using the 13" Detech and 10" elliptical on the 75 alot haha.

With winter coming that should give me more time to really evaluate it more. The more I use it the more you are likely to see me post on it.

I have 4 machines so, well you know ;)

I picked up an Omega a few months ago and can't seem to put it down. While my more expensive machines sit in the corner gathering dust, I'm having a blast with the O. The 7.8kHz frequency loves silver and does a great job of separating out high conductive trash from the good stuff. I normally hunt city parks and urban sites and EMI hasn't been much of a problem. I can usually run sensitivity at an already maxed out 80. I've only had one spot where I had to take it down to 50. Even so, it's more EMI prone than any machine I've used. Would like to see that issue fixed and beef up the sensitivity a little bit; give it the depth of the T2. Still a great coin hunter in the current package.

Many of the top of the line First Texas machines like the F-75, F-70, and the Omega to name a few, are Prone to EMI. However, the Omega will usually settle down considerably once you start sweeping the coil. But not always! That is why I always carry my trusty Tom D. tuned 1021 CZ3D
with me as my EMI backup machine. If the area I am hunting is not iron infested the CZ3D despite being a little heavy will allow me to detect with no sacrifice in performance.

Some were----some weren't!-----I had a couple of 1021 3D's that I had nothing but problems with.---The ones I had weren't Tom D tuned & one thing's for sure---a Tom D tuned CZ3D is going to be a good, properly operating machine--that's your insurance policy on that detector.-----Also as I remember, he doesn't validate/certify one unless it air tests a dime at 11 1/8" (besides his other criteria).

I just got mine on Ebay with the 11" Double D coil and rain cover. It was a tremendous deal that I couldn't pass up. So far it's a great machine. I have found some good stuff with it. Loving the depth on this machine I found a 1950 Wheat penny down about 9" so it's exciting. Still wondering about how it will hit on nickels and gold as I have not found any with this detector. My other machine is a Fisher F4 so I trade off between the two. Really like them both.

PS - First post here. Glad to be a part of the forums!

The Omega is my favorite machine of all time, and I've used many over the last 40 years.
