been thinking of trying the ferrous mode

hi,
ive had my explorer xs for some time and being it has the opinions like it does ive me considering trying the ferrous mode as some guys have said good things about this mode. any feedback from guys who've tried it and what are your opinions ?

I like ferrous in older sites. But, if there is any amount of newer trash you will be looking at the screen alot which is unreliable on deepies as far as LCD ID goes. In parks and such I use conduct almost all of the time. In farm fields and older dwellings which have little to no modern trash I use ferrous. With ferrous sounds a pulltab and IH can sound alike. Screwcaps can sound quite good too (like silver) unless you edit them out.
