Before They Call ... I Will Answer

This beautiful story was written by a doctor who worked in Central Africa

One night I had worked hard to help a mother in the labor ward; but in spite of all we could do, she died, leaving us with a tiny, premature baby and a crying two-year-old daughter. We would have difficulty keeping the baby alive; as we had no incubator (we had no electricity to run an incubator). We also had no special feeding facilities. Although we lived on the equator, nights were often chilly with treacherous drafts. One student midwife went for the box we had for such babies and the cotton wool that the baby would be wrapped in. Another went to stoke up the fire and fill a hot water bottle. She came back shortly in distress to tell me that in filling the bottle, it had burst (rubber perishes easily in tropical climates).

And it is our last hot water bottle!' she exclaimed. As in the West, it is no good crying over spilled milk, so in Central Africa it might be considered no good crying over burst water bottles. They do not grow on trees, and there are no drugstores down forest pathways.

WOW, Martin< do you know how to make an older grown woman cry....could hardly finish reading the story you posted through so many tears blurring my eyes which are already weak for seeing and reading! Love the story and, Yes, our God is an Awesome God and He knows ahead of time what we need and what will be prayed and asked for! He is far ahead of us in our needs and wants and supplies them even before we ask...the power of prayer is to believe that you will receive no matter how big or little a request it may seem to be! That little African girl had the faith that her prayer would be answered and when she wanted it answered! A little child shall lead them and she did! Thank you for this story and for renewed faith that may cause many to get discouraged and not believe because they haven't had their prayers answered in the way they want...but God answers always in the way His plan is for our good and to be fulfilled for His purpose! Amen! Ma Betty

What You believe does not matter....Faith comes from God.....So He will supply your belief.

to let me know if He was really real and He answered me with believing faith in my heart! God gives everyone a measure of faith which needs to grow and increase as He guides and directs us when we are willing to listen and learn from Him! It does take believing faith on our part or if we were forced to accept Jesus as our own personal Savior we would be like puppets on a string! He wants us to be willing and that is why He works His Holy Spirit within our heart and changes the stony one into a soft one which when planted with spiritual seeds of God's Truth into good soil grows and produces more faith and love towards others and God's animal kingdom, also! Anyone who really loves, honors and obeys God in Jesus' name will not harm humans or animals whether in or out of the mothers' wombs unless the animals are for food and is not wasted just to be killing! Amen! Thanks for your posts and keep posting when you are able to do so! Ma Betty
