Beginner relic hunter setting/program

New member
Got my XP in today. Been reading the manual and have Andy book coming. To hunt relics on good ground what would you start out with?
Thanks

Since you are a new user I recommend the following. Don't use the relic program yet. It operates on TX power 3 and may make your machine noisy. Plus deplete your battery faster. Try this, go into basic 1 program verify tracking GB, sensitivity setting of 90, set reactivity to 1 and silencer setting to 0, disc to 8.0, freq 12khz, audio resp 5, iron vol 2 or 3. You can after you make these adjustments to the basic 1 program, go ahead and save under one of the vacant slots, name it what you wish. After doing this you can start hunting and make any adjustments you want on the fly. If you get confused all you have to do is power off your machine. When you power back up select your program you named earlier and it will have the settings I recommended. These settings will get you down pretty deep with Deus, and make it run pretty quiet over most iron (except the large). Also if you need a break and power your Deus off. When you're rested power up select your program and your off to relic land. Cheers
Almost forgot. Check your backlight delay setting. I recommend setting it to off when hunting in daylight. Saves on battery power.
The iron vol will let you hear the nails etc. When you hear the iron it's a good idea to slow down. And don't be afraid to resweep and go in circles around patches of iron you come in contact with. Good luck.

As you are new to this machine why try and run becfore you can walk,it would be best to start of in one of the basic but very good well thought out progs like say Basic1 this will then give you time before altering major settings before you find the exact ones for your needs.Nothing could be worse with a new machine than just trying setting that other use, what works for other may not work for you because of say different ground conditions.

Good luck with your new Deus, give it time to learn it,then start adjusting settings, the beauty of this machine is it allows you to custom adjust to most scenarios and peoples liking.

Ok thanks. I'll clarify. I'm not a beginner detectorist been using a F75 for 3 yrs. just new to the Deus. Thanks again.
