Ain't nothing like a good woman to think of something
that will warm up a gold diggin' "pirate" like you after
hunting in the water all day. Tell her it looks great and
it looks even better on you. LOL

Gulf Huntress and Hunter,
Yes, those are all "pirate" colors in that exquisite quilt, for sure! Great piece! Keep giving each other all the best!

Hello Fellow Pirates,
Wanted to let you all know that I worked on this while Gulf Hunter was in Idaho hunting ducks. Could not work while he was home as it would not have been a surprise for him.
It took me about 3 days to put this together. Not bad for a beginner quilter. I decided I wanted to learn the art of quilt making, mainly to make lap quilts for my grandchildren, well,
it has gone farther than that as you can see. I have made 17 quilts since I started this adventure in early November. Gulf Hunter bought me a new sewing machine for Christmas and my birthday.
So I have put it to use. My grand babies were just as happy with theirs. I am planning to make more, and try to sell them at a craft show this year. Not sure I will make any more like this one.
Trying to use up the material I have on hand. I really enjoy the hobby, as I learned to sew when I was about 9 yrs old, and it has progressed since. I do other crafts as well. I guess I got a good double
dose of being crafty from my parents, my dad use to be in construction, and my mom is very crafty herself. I have worked in the construction industry for about 3 yrs before I married Gulf Hunter, and now
I will go paint when asked to do so. I have laid tile floors, and laminate wood floors in our home, getting ready to do master bath shower, as we had a leak around thanksgiving.
OK, that's enough, I think you get the picture as how crafty I am. LOL.
Have not been hunting hardly at all, I watch what Gulf Hunter brings home and if it is lame, I see that I made the right choice in staying home.
Hopefully this year will be better for all of us pirates. Take care and God Bless
Gulf Huntress

one of kind gift from a one of a kind person to another-good luck in up coming year in all your endeavors/adventures on lifes highway

Gulf Huntress,

You are indeed talented, You and Gulf Hunter seem to be very nice people, it's nice to see a couple that loves each other and God so much. My wife and I are the same way, We are musicians by trade, we've been a duo band for 30 years. My wife detects once or twice a year, she'd rather be on her surfboard. I surf once or twice a year, I rather be detecting. So That leaves the detecting to me, and I do a fair job at it. Your quilt work is very good, now you might make a quilt shirt for Gulf Hunter to wear detecting on cold days. LOL. Keep up the great work, Gene
