Best coil Choice for my X-Terra 70??

I purchased an E-Trac about 3-4 years ago and put my X-Terra in the closet. Well the weight of the E-Trac gets to me after 2-3 hours of hunting, so when I get tired I now grab my X-Terra. So I am now looking for the best coil for relic hunting (Civil War), best performing and best depth. Looking for opinions from you die hard X-Terra users. I am interested in any brand. Thanks for any help!!!

I've been hunting the X-Terra's since 2006 and when relic hunting, no other coil beats the 10.5's. You just have to get use to pinpointing, I just X the target and DIG DEEP!!!!!!

If you were asking about coin shooting i would have a different answer but I completely agree with morelic. Either of the 10.5" DD are perfect for relic hunting. I've always found that if you use the label on the coil to pinpoint with, you'll be spot on.

10.5 mf seems to be the best all around coil in these parts. the 15" 3khz is only deeper on quarters but the coverage is super nice.

I'm using a 705 but I have 6" hf, 10.5 mf, and 15" lf. I also have the stock 9" mf which would be fine for soil measurements and super bottle caps littered areas but it really just sits because it has no resale value. lol

For hunting trashy or iron infested areas use the 6 inch hf

I agree that 10.5 DD / 7.5 Feq is by far best in depth , ground coverage and more stable and can be set Sen level just little higher. I spent lots money all X-terra coil , 8 inch 3 Feq , and higher Feq. At end day for my Relic Hunting need the 10.5 DD 7.5 goes deeper . Chuck

Just remember that the 10.5 is not waterproof. Don't put it in a creek or pond......

I've found that for relic hunting it's really a good idea to have both, the 10.5 DD and a 6 HF DD. Reason is, I use the 10.5 DD to look for concentrations of iron in big fields, large search areas. Once I've found an iron rich (nail laden) site, I'll usually hunt it a bit with the 10.5" to see if I'm in the right kind of area, but if the density is a little much for the 10.5", I'll switch to the smaller coil (which gets about 8" deep for me). But, once I've found the Civil War period site or have evidence that it's the homesite I've been looking for, I start digging pretty much everything, since it means I'll be coming back to that site repeatedly.
