BEST COIL FOR INFINIUM IN HOT GROUND

LOUISA DIGGER

WHAT IS THE BEST COIL FOR INFINIUM IN HOT GROUND FOR RELIC HUNTING ? ONE THAT IS LIGHTER THAN THE STOCK DD 14 INCH .ADVICE ON SETTINGS .THANKS

The infinium was designed to be used in hot ground. All the coils should make the Infinium perform well. As a rule, DD's can punch through a little better then mono's .

How hot is your ground? The Infinium was tested in Italy and Australia in some of the toughest ground.

I PLAN ON USING IT AT THE DIV HUNT IN VA .FRIENDS SAY THE GROUND IS VERY HOT ! THE LARGE STOCK DD COIL IS VERY HEAVY ,ADVICE ON SMALL COILS .THANKS

I use the 8" mono coil. It pinpoints in the center and off the outer edge. I have pulled gold rings at an easy 12-14 inches in highly alkaline sand. The coil is also very light. Last year I bought the 3 x 7 DD coil. It works good in trashy areas, but you notice an obvious loss of depth. I think in your case, the 8" mono would be my suggestion. The only other option is that 9 x 12 DD or 10 x 14 inch mono. You will have to calculate the weight, and I haven't had the opportunity to try these, so I won't comment.
