Got a call from a friend of mine who knew that I had a metal detector. He said that a little girl was riding a horse at the local 4H and lost a bracelet that had a lot of sentimental value. The bracelet was made out of the shell casings from the 21 gun salute of her fathers funeral. He was killed in Afghanistan a few years ago. I looked all around the riding arena and took a pass around the outside grassy area when I hit it and saw it at the same time. It was silver with the brass casings and the date of his burial on it.Yesterday I called my buddy and he came over to get it and return it to the girl. I havent heard from her but it is a great feeling knowing that you helped someone. Ironically , I was flying medevacs during the timeframe on the bracelet and there is an outside chance that i may have had him in the plane with me.

That's a great story. I, personally, would have wanted to return it myself just to see the look on her face. Never the less you did a good thing.

god bless you

Great story!
