Best High Trash settings?

First off I live in Louisiana so mineralization is low. I am just trying to figure out how to get the machine to react better to targets in an OLD trashy location. I hunt where the ground if full of iron (square nails, and small to large flat iron targets.

You will need a smaller coil, probably an ellipical DD coil. You will need to move SLOW so try one of the 5 filters. Use a faster recovery delay, try 45.

To work with the iron, set all VDI above a nail ,or nail and above, to zero or discriminate them. Use the correlate mode. Iron doesn't correlate well.

You may have to reduce gain to reduce the coil footprint. I'd keep 3 frequency to help with ID.

Good thing I have the 10x6 DD lol. Exactly what does correlate mode do?

Read page 51 in your manual.

Correlate sets a span of VDI. If the VDI stay within this span for 2 of the frequencies the V3I accepts them as a good target. If the spread of VDI falls outside the span it rejects them.

I'd cut back to fewer audio tones too. Using the V's controls to simplify can be one of it's major strengths at times.

Set unwanted tones to 0. That has helped me a lot. Try stereo mixed mode

The Eclipse 5.3 coil is awesome in high trash areas. It's concentric so it should also punch a little deeper in the low mineralization.
