I used to post as Bilko
anyone got any suggestions, please? Any advice on harnessing would be great too, please?
Stuff I have learned this year about using the ETrac:
Always investigate the slightest variation in tone. Open screen the ETrac and if it still occurs, dig it. It will probably be deep but a good target
In pinpointer mode, if it is really squealing, use your probe to see if you can find the target on the surface
Put brass objects as soon as you can into olive oil and keep them there for at least 2 weeks
Remember you have a depth guage which works well normally so,when using a mini-spade dig your hole depth accordingly.Dig a 3 sided hole if possible
I only use my machine in 2 tone ferrous since I dig everything. I normally ignore numbers
My stock coil has a small, wire problem which I fix by fiddling with the wire occasionally. Get to know your machine
Try to get permission and treat the farmer/land owner to a bottle of something
Be honest about what you find and share the history with others, especially school children
Here is my latest, good UK find:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyplhR9YqlY
and with about 20 hours of enjoyment a week, I recovered 3 treasure items which can be viewed on my website:

and

Merry Christmas!
