best settings for goldquest ss

Hi folks,
I am, unfortunately, not a very techinical kind of guy when it comes to detectors, but I have been reading the post on PI Info trying to educate myself as to how a PI detector's settings work. I realize that my best education will be when I actually buy and use one, but until then what do some of you recommend as the most effective setting for nugget hunting in the desert? I know some of you may have varying opinions, and that's okay with me. I'm just tryng to get an idea as to how to initially set the detector up for my first time out in the field (and why I would set it up that way) because I'm hoping to get one real soon!
Any info would be appreciated.

"SAT" at slowest.
"Reject" at minimum.
"Threshold" as to just hear it.
Sweep coil slow, and level to ground.
That's it, there's nothing more to it.

Thanks Mr. Bill. That seems pretty straight forward enough. I've been hearing nothing but good about this detector. Can't wait to get one and go over all my old spots.
