I am going with the 6.5" elliptical concentric coil.

I have used and have both....I prefer the dd 5". The concentric 6" seemed to false more. The 5" is a bit more surgical in high iron/trash.

My air testing shows just a shade better than the 5" on a dime 8.5" and 9" on the 6.5. I don't really keep on in the ground depth but I can say I have hit pennies and dimes at 5" and
6". Other than a little better ground coverage, where it really shines is working in around iron (rust bottle caps). The same is true for any concentric coil.

Found a 5 in.DD at a reasonable price. Hope to get out hunting soon here in Wi. Snow on the ground again this morning. HH Joe

I'll second the vote on this coil.
And I'll add that in general a concentric coil has a better ability to better read (or ignore) iron like bottle caps.
