Best smaller Coil for Safari would be..?

reltolbert

New member
I know the standard 11"DD coil for the Safari is great, but if you wanted to use
a smaller coil for the trash areas, which one would be the best?

Go to the Explorer forum and Bryce has written reviews on most if not all coils that will work on Minelabs. Also go to Sun-Ray's forum and field tests on their coils can be found. These will help you decide. I have a Sun-Ray X-5 and the X-12 for my Safari and they work very well. They are deep and seperates targets from trash VERY well. Which ever coil or coils you decide to purchase get an extra lower rod as it will really make changing coils a lot easier. Hope this helps. HH :minelab:

If the coil is not a Minelab product, will it void the Warranty if something goes wrong
with the Safari detector?

No just make sure the coil you use is for FBS machines. That Pro-Coil works awfully good. Take your time and learn those sounds and pin-pointing. Ferrous or conductive. Leave everything in factory set-up until you get used to the sounds. Then you can customize your own programs for the area you hunt in. HH :minelab:
