Best trashy area coil

SC Dirt Fisher

New member
I like to hunt a local fresh water beach park a lot that's very trashy. What's the best coil for the Safari to hunt there. (Doesn't have to be a Minelab brand.)

superior depth. excellent separation.......... ;)

Everyone will probably give you a different answer depending on what they use. I use a NEL Sharpshooter & really like it, its 5.5"x9.5", I have pulled wheat pennies at 8" with it. Works great around those high power lines without EMI. Is it the best? I can't say, I haven't used others just this NEL. I want to get the even smaller NEL Sharp, a little 5" round coil for some of my really super trashy areas.

I agree with KinTN. I love my 8 x 6 SEF coil, and use it 98% of the time. With that coil, I don't seem to lose much in depth and have found small items 9 inches deep. Another benefit is I can swing my Safari all day long. Trashy parks are now fun to hunt, and in those trashy areas I have not only found coins, but nine rings so far this year. That never would have been possible with the standard 11 inch coil.
