Purchased a G2 on Feb 2nd, received on Feb 7th, direct shipped from his distributor. Contact Bart a week later concerned there was something wrong with the machine 5in on dime in air test. Instead of offering to contact Teknetics for me like most dealers would he gives me a number and says talk to Hector..... I call Hector, he said 8in on a dime is the test they use. Reply this to Bart, doubting some of the air-tests done here(rubber tapes and such), no further replies for two weeks from Bart. I get busy and unable to detect for a few weeks, break out the G2. Not feeling confident because of the prior tests. I air test a few items again, same crappy results as before. Change battery, same sub par results again. So I email Bart, seems to take a lot longer for him to respond to trouble emails. I know this because it took him all of 2 minutes to reply that same evening when asking about purchasing a unit(used different email). He pushes me off to call Teknetics again. Because I had purchased the unit on the 2nd of Feb, mind you this all takes place yesterday March 7th, he could not handle any warranty issues
. He then sends me an "Invoice" for the improper amount that I bought it for with NO DATE ON IT. I was irritated and reply that I would just handle it myself and would remember this when recommending dealers to anyone. Then this morning I get an email from him again. "I pulled out a demo G2 and air tested it. It does not hit a dime well either at 8" unless you really crank the sensitivity and swing the target fairly fast. It does terrible at a slow swing speed. The G2 is designed for a moderate to fast swing speed for best depth. I tried a nickel with a bit better results due to its a lower conductor and the G2 is more suited for low conductors. Try speeding up your swing. Mine doesn't air test well either but seems to hunt well." It is obvious he did not read my email, I said 4-5in is all I could get on a dime on both coils! So not even wanting anything to do with Big Boys hobbies, I ask for a full refund on the "lemon", he states because it was after a week when I first contacted him it would be a 20% RESTOCKING FEE!!!!!! This was something he recently put on his site, as recent as this evening after I asked for a refund. Look at a cached page of his site from the 3rd of this month! I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND Big Boy's Hobbies to anyone. The way he handled my issues and changed his website after our email conversations is not a good way to conduct business.......
