Big coil for f75

I'm getting a new f75 with the stock coil and 5" coil. If I'm hunting some open field sites will the stock coil be enough or is it worth getting a bigger coil like the NEL? I read posts in regards to the bigger coils and the old f75s but haven't seen much about how they are on the new ones. Just looking for some inout

I asked the exact same question several weeks ago and got a few replies but no one on the forums during that time had any experience with the bigger NEL coils. I figure to pick one up before the spring thaw unless we have a mild winter.

Thanks for the reply. I feel bad asking questions that have already been asked but once you search through a few pages it's easier just to make another topic

The stock coil does me good. Putting on a new coil means a lot of time learning it. I stayed with stock and now know what it says when it talks to me.

I hear ya there. The search feature can be sketchy sometimes even if one is looking for something they specifically read at an earlier time. I have found You Tube vids with peeps using Nel coils on the F75 but none where they were comparing or generally talking about performance, the fact there are users out there is good though. Check out Detector Comparisons channel. He has a handful of vids comparing stock coils of various machines with NEL coils and the most recent one with a certain gold detector that I happen to own was an eye opener. A repeatable signal on a 10 inch silver dime in bad soil is impressive.

My brother has a f75 and seem like he bought the big coil they call the ultimate coil about 6 months ago and be wasn't happy with it and traded for a smaller coil. He was hoping for more depth but that didn't happen.

I have the NEL Tornado on my F75 and love it! As a matter of fact I own 5 NEL Tornado coils, one for each of my machines. They are super stable, have excellent work quality and the mounting ears are 5 times as thick as other coils.

I have the standard coil for my F70 which along with the T2 and the F75 are all built on the same basic platform.
Like anything the soil you are hunting really counts and in my horrible soil here in Bama that coil along with my others gets as deep as any detector/coil combos around here.
Now in Kansas with beautiful rich soil all 3 of my coils were great but slightly different.
My standard elliptical concentric 10" could give me audio at 10" and a bit beyond but the screen info past about 9" was spotty if it was there at all.
My 5" DD worked just as well and as far as that coil but it might have gone even a bit deeper.
Now that big F75 coil was the deepest of all by at least a couple of inches and way more lots of times.
I could easily hit and get some pretty accurate screen info on targets at the 10-12" area, the deeper, older targets seemed to hover around the 6" area but I came across several at the 8-10" mark and I could hit that all day.
The deepest target I ever dug was at a measured 15" and had great audio and pretty decent screen ID info on that one from several directions.
Didn't really look for or really feel like digging much past 12" in my public parks so that big DD coil was all I ever needed.

Tornado for F75 will not disappoint. That coil is amazing for for its balance, deeeep, and best for EMI supression.

I run the Tornado all the time and the 5 inch stock coil in high trash or in yards. Nel hits hard on targets 6-8 and pretty good on 10-11 on some bigger items. Hit a small axe head at 11-12 inches.
