Big Silver Day

Dan(NM)

Well-known member
I started todays hunt at a vacant lot that I've had my eye on for some time now. I found the owner 3 days ago and had gotten his permission to hunt it. After an hour and a half with nothing to show but trash and very disappointed, I moved on to the old high school in town. Another hour of listening to nothing but trash signals, I decided to call it quits for the day. I was unloading my gear at home, when I decided to hunt in the front yard of the place that I'm house sitting. The first signal was a 56 wheat, mmm, I thought maybe a silver dime might pop up. The next signal almost made me fall over, it was the last coin I expected to find in my own yard, ahhh, there's no place like home :) There were 2 other coins in the same hole with the half, another wheatie and a nickle. I ran out of time before having to head out of town to pick up my kids. That sure made up for the first couple of hours of getting skunked. When I have more time, I do believe I'll be spending more time in my own yard.

That's great Dan,
you can't get closer to home than your own back yard...:detecting:

I'm kind of surprised that you haven't tried your own yard before. Yards are great for making some very nice finds, like the one you just found. Pound that yard! Good Luck and HH.
