Howdy,
We had a nice all day soaking rain yesterday, so I was looking forward to getting out today for at least a little while. I finally got a late afternoon short one, and was rewarded with just about perfect conditions. The ground was like butter, and the signals were alive. I went to a spot that has some age, but also lots and lots of nulls. Good combo for the 8x6 SEF. I ended up turning down the sensitivity to around 22 this time, to compensate a bit for the more active soil and conditions.
I focused my search around some older trees, and ran some loose patterns to see where the null fields were. After awhile I hooked a promising signal, and was rewarded with a silver rim. Much to my surprise though, I soon saw that it was a Barber dime, and even more, I could see detail that I rarely ever do on those I recover detecting. I wrapped it up and tucked it away to rinse off at home. Now I was much more interested in this particular spot, so I tightened up my patterns. Found a bit of clad, and then a Wheat not too far from it. Time was up, and I didn't really finish even this little area, so I'm hoping the ground stays soaked for awhile longer.

Got home and cleaned the Barber up, and was just amazed at the condition of this one. Can't wait to try again!
