It should. I don't have a BT 5.0 device to check but from what I have read BT 5.0 devices are backward compatible. You just don't get the BT 5.0 benefits.

Search "low latency" ear buds. Some have written slow bluetooth not low latency has a lag that will make you think a target is farther from it's real position. A sound delay.
