Well as a result of reading many of your posts...................I've purchased a Fisher 1270X. Wonder why all of your 1270 comments are in the "F" forum and not in the "Classic" forum which is supposed to be about the 1200 series of detectors?? Anyways, I'm glad I stumbled upon them. Your ramblings, peaked my curiosity and after actually air testing the Fisher 1270X ........I bought one. I think this unit will be a "deep" seeker. Only thing that concerns me is that a few of our local dealers told me that the 1270 will not be hot on gold rings!! As well they told me that no serious coin hunters would bother with this machine...that also concerned me.But are these guys really just blowing smoke?? I like to do "dry sand" beach hunting in the summer for coins & jewelry. In some of the Garrett and Whites ads they actually reffer to the 8.2 KHZ as better for gold detection. I know 15KHZ is better for natural gold.......but that is not what I'll be looking for!!What is your experience with this machine and it's gold ring hunting abilities? Soon I will be going out with my new 1270 and I hope to put up some posts on my progress...but they will be in the "Classic " forum...after all I'm a Classic guy using a Classic detector. Hope Bob and other Fisher 1270 X users will meet me there. Thanks Bob you've just made my day!!!
