(Garrett Got Gold)

Finally got a day off, after seven in a row. One of our patients where I work tipped me off to a possible place to hunt, as the water level had dropped. So.....my buddies and me filled up the front seat of my car and off we went to check out the spot.

Well, I hunted this spot for about six hours and got my quota....a ring, and gold at that. Most of the loot came from this lake too. I tried one more possible location, and BANG!, my first hit was another gold ring. A little smaller, but a gooder anyways!

Below are the rings I got today. :)

That's one fine hunt, John. And I love seeing those dollar coins in your finds.

I found my first dollar coin last week, a Sagachawea or however you spell it.

It was nice to find, but it got me thinking about your regular large coin finds and how nice it would be if the US had our own loonies and toonies.

The US government keeps trying to push dollar coins on the public to save money, but they're too stupid to understand the obvious: dollar coins will never be accepted unless dollar bills are withdrawn.

I'm kind of curious, where do the loonies and toonies hit on your Garretts?

I hope the government does get rid of your lower denomination dollar bills. That would definitely shed new light on the hobby. The word CLAD would get some much deserved respect. :)

Having $1 and $2 coins allow for a significant amount of money to be found in fairly short order.:clapping::ausflag: There is $351 dollars in the above photo that was found in an 8 day period in Sydney. The bulk of that amount was the direct result of finding $1 and $2 coins. I find them far more rewarding and allow me to out hunt gold hunters on physical value in most cases. Little wonder I love hunting them.
Your doing very well on the gold rings!
Well done.
Mick Evans.

Always nice to detect a new untouched spot.
Good finds in clad and rings ..Congrats !!
