Bought a new Deus II there have been some physical changes

Hi Guys, Gals,
So this week I bought another Deus II . I wanted a back up unit for a couple of reasons. First as a second unit that's the main reason. Second reason is so I can play at my leisure with the different software versions in real time. Yes super geek. I'm on .071 and very happy there and moving up to play is just a pain. I've done it multiple times and it's hard to remember exact performance of each version. Then back to .071 I go. So now I can play in real time. Super geek but have now moved out of my mom's basement. The small changes to the new unit are ; Where the remote connects to the stem the block now has a spot for the little string to thread though so you can't loose the remote. That's a biggie and the power cord pushes into the remote for charging so no turning the little nut thingy. This is all to report for now.

Last weekend I attended The Great Catskills Hunt in Big Indian N. Y. It was a fun time. I found almost nothing while all around me people were finding great stuff !!! You have to get your coil over it. I did Meet Big Tony from this forum so that was nice.

Makes me wonder which iteration I'll be receiving, tomorrow!

My guess is that you will get the same as I did. It showed up with 2.0 software.
Doesn’t really matter. You can make it what you like. Good luck with your new machine.

I purchased a new 3 cord charger and it has the push in charging connector, it is much better than the original nut righting one. A year ago I bought a 3d printed remote mount from DirtDevilDetectn. The mount has a tab and thumb screw, holds the remote tightly in place, no need for the tether. It also hast the remote tilted left having the remote looking at me, no need to turn the entire detector my way to get a better view of display. I have been on 1.10 since last fall, .071 for the previous two years, I do like the audio improvements that came with that update. Good hunting vibes to all.

Nut tightening…stupid auto correct!

CT Todd, it was fun meeting you at the hunt. I too was near by a few folks who found silvers but no cigar for me. My best was a silver plated cuff button circa 1800-1850, 8 inches down, (the size of my pinky nail). I’m glad we met up and glad I tried till I was exhausted!
See you in the field, Tony NJ.

Ive been stuck on .71 and afraid to upgrade as the it looks much more complicated than the D1 upgrading. Looks like upgrades that I can live without.
Rather than screw up my machine and waste lots of time, I'll stick with the old that works just fine. Recently had to send coil in and with no backup coil, was starting to shake :) :) :)
What a relief to get a new coil and back on the road.

Here's a kudo to Deus repair. Very fast turnaround, one week. Always great experience working with the folks in Mass.

Good luck with your new version. I have an opportunity to buy a used D2, but gold finds are nil and just not worth cost of a new machine nowadays.
Just wish I had a backup coil. Wish they weren't soooo expensive.
