Hey guys...I went to an estate sale today. The lady told me her husband died last year and only tried this xlt in the back yard once after he bought it. She brought it out of a room, and it was still in the box. It had the manual, whites headphones, reciept from when he bought it. The receipt says he bought it in 2001 for 730.00, but you can tell this thing is brand new still. Not a scratch anywhere! Has a nicad pack, alkaline pack also I was looking at instructional video on YouTube. ...man, it confused me with all th pro settings!

MAN WE DON"T WANT TO HEAR IT !!!!!!

[size=large]ya did real good. going by the date it's a spectrum w/rainbow decals. can re-sell for about $350-$400.. it may prove a little hard to find the almost required 5.3 coil every XLT owner should have. jmho. enjoy.

That XLT is one really nice detector. You got a smokin deal to boot. I have a copy of XLT Field Methods & Custom Programs I was going to put in Accessories for sale section later today if you are interested let me know.

Its ginna take me awhile to learn just the basics with it first. I'd like to have the field methads, but I haven't told my wife I've spent 175.00 yet...lol:cry:

I hope ya don't mind sleeping in the cold, once your wife finds out been there done that! aah the price of metal detecting

Congrats on a Great Buy. Read the manual, watch the vids, then read the manual again and watch the vids a few more times. You'll get the hang of it. If not, Send it to me and i will figure it out for you. Or i couold send you a nice Mr. Bill mod'ed Classic III SL for it. Be easy for the wife to use.:heh:

:detecting:

[size=medium]just to start ya off on the right foot ya want to go back in the XLT classroom forum and follow threads from Monte Berry. He's the most reknowned XLT guru in the country. lots of these fellas know alot about the machine. Monte was born with one in his hands. you and the bride are gunna love this machine.
a few numbers to remember. +58 thru +93 repeatable, dig.. +16 thru +20 has good chance of being a nickel. those numbers seem to be constant across the country. for instance i'll make four or five passes and if +18/+19 come up at least twice i'll dig and MOST times it's been a nickel. not always. if the machines were perfect this hobby would be boring. will be looking for your post of finds. HAPPY HUNTING

Like widebody says those are good numbers to remember.
Dug up a +20 once and it was a ladies 14 k engament gold ring with a diamond

Nice find, Czhunter! I just picked up a slightly newer (2006) XLT last weekend and I have about twice that in mine.

Yeah, I finally found a good deal on something. Hopefully it will last me a long time. Went out with my wife yesterday and she found a few clad coins, and a silver plated cross. She wasn't digging anything more than a few inches deep using the factory jewelry beach program. We were in an old park. She was using the whites, and I was using my cz3d. She had alot of fun though. This was her first time using a detector. She pretty much put her name on the whites..
