Bounty Hunter Headphones Issue

I was out detecting today, using the same pair of bounty hunter headphones that I've used for about a year now. As I was getting up from recovering a target, I pulled on the headphone cord, and just like that, my headphones stopped working (I couldn't get a sound out of them, even with the volume on max setting and fully plugged into the jack on the detector). I suspect that the problem is in the connector end, where the wire hooks into the jack. Has anyone else had a similar problem with these headphones? Other than this, they've been quite comfortable and handy...

Those wires are tiny and easily broken. They can break in the earpiece or at the plug or even somewhere along the wire if it got stretched hard enough. All headphones are like this, not just the BH brand. It's usually an easy fix with a soldering iron. Any tech person could do this repair for you. If they charged much to do it, you might be better off with a new pair of headphones, mine cost all of 10 bucks. Soldering is easy to learn if you want to buy the iron and solder, you could repair it yourself and be ready to fix other things as well.

My headphones are from Radio Shack and the same thing happened. Had to buy a new pair.

I don't like wearing headphones. I find them to be too uncomfortable and cumbersome and sometimes they can place the wearer in danger by blocking out posible warning sounds. A much better and cheaper alternative is to purchase a 1\4 - 1\8 adapter and an inline volume control from Radio Shack, then go to The Dollar Store and buy a pair of over the ear earphones. They're lightwieght, more comfortable and allow the user to set the volume to a comfortable level and you can still hear sounds around you.

That's why you should carry extra set of headphones in your detector bag , along with spare batteries spare knife, and other spare parts. It always happens when your in a good spot, something goes wrong and no spare with you. Headphones are the easiest things to get caught up while hunting in the brush and so on. It don't take much to break or pull a wire out. I always bring extra headphones and I also use a pair that has detachable cords from the ear piece when hunting around brushy areas. The ones I have they don't make anymore but Detector Pro make models that not only have detachable cords but give you a spare cord in case something happens to the cord your using. Even a cheap pair will work in a bind. No sense going home when some thing happens be pre-paired just like a Boy Scout!

Hi , I'm a newbie from the U.K. It's difficult joining a club and without club status even more difficult to go detecting over here so I have not had the pleasure of stepping on my cable .What surprises me is that nobody has yet produced cordless 'phones. It is so easy today . I have been using cordless 'phones to listen to the t.v. for ten years now , so what happened to technology ? Cheers , bayleaf.

OR PITCH BUT ARE HARD TO FIND OR EXPENSIVE
THIS WEEK I HAD TROUBLE WITH 2 DIFFERENT

SO SO FRUSTRATING WHEN OUT IN THE FIELD
ONLY PAIR I HAVE LEFT ARE BY WHITES
AND THEY LIKE 99% ARE TOO BASSY
AND HAVE A CORD SO SHORT
A MIDGET MUNCHKIN FROM WIZ OF OZ
WOULD HAVE TROUBLE
