Bounty Hunter Pinpointer

Is the Bounty Hunter pinpointer pretty good? I see them for under 40 bucks and was wondering if they are a good buy?

I've got one, It works just fine, you have to be VERY close though, almost touching. It has a problem with the tuning nob on the front, which is easily bumped and changed, and its all plastic housing means you have to be more gentle with. as it is more susceptible to breaking.

I've been with Bounty Hunter from the beginning, and I'm not a "hardcore" MDer, so it works well for me. but, If you are going to get serious in this hobby, you WILL want a better one.

Hi Hungarian. trkdrvr38 is right on.

I've used the Bounty Hunter and Fisher pinpointer models and had great success with them. Though I did wear thru the tip of the first one and had to replace it. I have to keep re-tuning as it drifts constantly.

I also tried the Cen-Tech and didn't like it much.

I finally bucked up the extra cash for a Garrett Pro Pointer and what a difference.....Holy cow! If you have the extra money get the Garrett. It saves me so much time when pokin around in the dirt. As someone stated on this forum in the past "you'll think you died and went to heaven." If you don't have the $ now, the Bounty Hunter is okay.

Good luck!
