Boy are we in for it. Weather guy says we got one storm after another coming in and supposed to get a foot of snow Thursday. That will shut this burg

So true....
The whole world gets snow and deals with it just fine but when it hits our neck of the woods things get ugly quickly.
for those of you wondering where that would be for Uncle Willy and I, it is on the wet (west) side of washington and Northern Oregon.
The snow we get here is as slippery as anything. Not dry powdery stuff that blows in the wind...This stuff is a coating of teflon sitting atop a puddle of grease.
I had a co-worker that moved from Idaho. When he was gonna run home on his lunch break one snowy day I told him to take it easy on the roads. Claiming he had driven in snow all his life he headed out the door only to call twenty minutes later saying he would be back to work as soon as the wrecker pulled him out of the ditch.
We can handle four inches of rain in 24 hours and never even have our wipers work up a sweat but a dusting of heavy wet snow laying ontop frozen ground creates a driving nightmare no matter who is behind the wheel.

Same up here north of Seattle, supposed to get 9 inches of snow starting Wednesday morning. That's on top of the icy roads we still have from the last dusting we got on Sunday. Temps haven't been above freezing for a few days now, won't be 'til next week. Definitely not what you see around here in the winter!

Yeah our temps have been in the teens. Today it warmed up slightly and rained, then rain mixed with snow. Tohnight it'll probably drop back down and tomorrow it will be an ice skating rink out there.

Yeh Bill I know what you mean...I just drove from Ashland to Bend the whole way was ice roads. I never drove that far on ice before in Georgia but it was kinda fun. Getting used to it. Bend is one colds ass place. But I like the town and the people here. Going back to Ashland tommorrow. Getting my Infinium by Fedx on Friday, woohoo!

As I posted in my other one, Spokane got hammered last night and today. We actually shut down the buses and they sent everyone home. That NEVER happens. Had some delys during Mt. St Helens and Ice Storm but nothing like today. This city is shut down..........

Yeah I worked in Bend during the dead of winter on a construction project and had to drive home every weekend over Mt. Hood and then back the following Monday.morning. That was an adventure. It do get cold down there.
