Boy Scout slide, ring, and toy money

Didn't get out much this last week, but did find a few cool things.

The Boy Scout neckerchief slide is from the late '50's. The cheap ring says sterling(and has a patent number???). The toy quarter TID'd.....like a quarter.

The neckerchief slide is kinda cool Certainly cooler than the silver ring, unless, of course the stone is semi precious. Even then the boy scouts have the history.

I have found a rather large handfull of Boy Scout sides. That's the first one that I have seen like that. Nice detail to it.

I have found a few slides as well, none like that one. Is it possible that is from the Indian Guides? Maybe it's just older than I have seen, pretty cool!

It took me awhile to find anything about the slide. I DID find this:

"A four year program called "Onward for God and my Country" ran from 1956 to 1960.
Unit goals and achievements were again set at the time of registration around manpower,
program, and membership. Units earned the "Onward for God and my Country" Award
for attaining 75% of its goals and showing a net increase in youth. Council's had
to attain 75% of their achievements in "Ten Test of Successful Scouting" and
show net growth.

There's also a Norman Rockwell painting of that title, with George Washington kneeling in prayer in the background, and a Boy Scout and Cub Scout in the foreground."

The slide depicts (what looks like to me) a scout leader, a Cub Scout, a Boy Scout, and - in the background - George Washington praying.

Mom has been in Scouting since 1977, so I'll probably give it to her. She thought it was pretty cool.
