Boy Was I Wrong & Two Personal Bests!

Went to the place where I found the Large Cent last weekend for about 3 hours this evening. I found one of the Rosies under a large tree only about an inch or so down. Other than that and a few wheats I wasn't finding much as I'd hit this area hard last weekend. I went over to the lawn on the other side which I'd briefly tried last weekend and only found a few deep memorial cents. I figured there probably wasn't much silver there. Boy was I wrong (thank God)!

Proceeded to find a Merc, and then shortly thereafter the Washington quarter. Found another silver Rosie and then the big surprise! A nice 1904 Barber Quarter - though I have found a Seated Quarter before and a couple of Standing Liberties as well as a handfull of silver Washingtons - that darn Barber has eluded me in the quarter size for 9 years! I've found many Barber dimes, but for some strange reason the Barber Q has been eluding me. Tonight that came to an end - in a place where I really didn't think I would find one. To say I was surprised would be to put it mildly!

A little later I dug a weird signal and was surprised with a Buffalo nickel. Rescanned the hole and found the second Merc dime - that explained the weird signal and was a nice surprise. The other Buffalo was found on the side where I found the LC in an area where there was bushes that have been trimmed back quite a bit.

I also found a handfull of wheat cents and a couple whatzits that I'll post later.

SO my two personal bests on this hunt were the Barber Q and the total number of silver coins: 6 (all found in about 3 hours). I'm convinced that there's got to be a lot more silver where these were found and plan on returning soon.

Thanks for looking.

That makes one nice day of huunting in anybody's book. Congratulations on the Barber Q, Eric.
