Brandy's ice box plate reminded me of this one...........

It's newer than Brandy's but still pretty neat. Found it many years ago. About 1/4 lb. of solid brass. No flimsy nameplates back in those days! (No bail-outs either!!!)

by one of two names. We called it either "the ice-box" or "the Frigidaire". It was kind of like the deal with a vacuum cleaner. Any vacuum was called a "Hoover". In fact, I can remember women saying they were going to "Hoover" the carpet. Dam we're old!

A lot of us poorer folks didn't have a Hoover,we'd roll the rugs up and take them out doors to the clothes line and drape them over it and then BEAT the h&ll out of it with a heavy wired beater shapped like an elongated heart.
