Brian - Update and an apology

Pete in MI

New member
Please accept my apologies.
Posted 9 hours ago
I have neglected to update the carepage in awhile.

Brian did not continue to bleed and we didn't have to make a trip to Vandy. Wednesday we took Brian to see a pediatric gastrologist to monitor Brian's intake of formula. He suggested we up his calorie intake and ordered new formula. The new formula should be here Monday.

His feeding schedule has changed also and will include a pump fed feeding overnight for 8 hours. We ran a test run last night with his present formula and it worked well. Brian woke up with a full stomach!! Carol slept in the living room with Brian to monitor the feeding.

Tuesday we have a stomach emptying test done at UT hospital. He will be fed formula containing radio isotopes (he'll be as hot as a whitetail deer in Oak Ridge) to follow the formula through his digestive tract to make sure his plumbing is working properly. Brian has complained of being full on smaller amounts of formula and this test should indicate if anything is wrong.

We find out Monday when we will meet with the pain management team. Brian's pain has peaks and valleys but never goes away completely.

And, we have more good news that I'll post later!!!

God bless all of you for your thoughts, prayers and support!!!

Doug and Carol

Don't hink ou need to apologize Doug...you have had a lot on your hands and mind for quite a while now. We understand and continue to pray for Brian and all there. Hang in there.

Thanks for the update on Brian and will still be praying for him and all the family! Good to hear the good news of his not continuing to bleed! Post the other good news when you have the time....I'll be waiting to read what it is! :) God Bless! Betty

Oak Ridge, Tn is about 30 minutes from here and the deer in the area are prone to radiation poisoning. When a hunter bags a deer it has to be tested for radiation exposure before it is released to the hunter. Folks in our part of the country are familiar with the term "hot deer".

Our family appreciates all of your prayers and appreciate Pete for sharing our Carepage updates.

Brian is in agonizing pain right now and we can't wait to meet our pain management team soon to see what can be done to ease the pain. I have enjoyed reading about all of the treasure you guys are digging and maybe one day soon I'll be able to get out again. Under the circumstances I have very little time for my hobbies.

Though I rarely post anymore I do read and pray for each request.

Doug

Just kidding and know that really isn't a laughing matter. Thanks for your prayers too Doug. Praying now for pain relief for Brian.

I don't know how you even find the time to post let alone update web pages. Prayers are always there for Brian. Tell him I said, "hey". :)
