I have neglected to update the carepage in awhile.
Brian did not continue to bleed and we didn't have to make a trip to Vandy. Wednesday we took Brian to see a pediatric gastrologist to monitor Brian's intake of formula. He suggested we up his calorie intake and ordered new formula. The new formula should be here Monday.
His feeding schedule has changed also and will include a pump fed feeding overnight for 8 hours. We ran a test run last night with his present formula and it worked well. Brian woke up with a full stomach!! Carol slept in the living room with Brian to monitor the feeding.
Tuesday we have a stomach emptying test done at UT hospital. He will be fed formula containing radio isotopes (he'll be as hot as a whitetail deer in Oak Ridge) to follow the formula through his digestive tract to make sure his plumbing is working properly. Brian has complained of being full on smaller amounts of formula and this test should indicate if anything is wrong.
We find out Monday when we will meet with the pain management team. Brian's pain has peaks and valleys but never goes away completely.
And, we have more good news that I'll post later!!!
God bless all of you for your thoughts, prayers and support!!!
Doug and Carol
Don't hink ou need to apologize Doug...you have had a lot on your hands and mind for quite a while now. We understand and continue to pray for Brian and all there. Hang in there.
